Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Hello!

My name is Lindsey Kennon.  I am happy to be serving FHBA in my second year as our school’s PTO President.  My husband, John, and I have been members of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church for eight years.  We have two children, Carson (2nd grade at FHBA) and a two-year-old, Emerson who attends FUMC Preschool.  We are so thankful for our church family and have loved our past two years at FHBA and look forward to many more to come!  We were drawn the FHBA for the strong faith-based foundation for which the school has fostered for decades.  The desire that our daughter be taught, loved, guided, and nurtured by strong followers of Christ is of utmost importance to us as a family.  The freedoms we can enjoy as a private academy are such a blessing as well.

Parental/family involvement is a vital part of the success of our school!  We contribute both financially and through volunteer time in various ways to support our students, teachers, and administration.  There are many opportunities for parents to jump on board and serve our school.  There are ways you can help support us with financial goals, positions available to volunteer during school hours, tasks that can be done at home during after-school hours, and general actions you can take to be involved.

I encourage you to think of your involvement with FHBA and your child’s education with “Three P’s”…

PRAY!  We are so blessed to be able to openly pray in our school.  What a gift to know our children are prayed for aloud daily by our principal, staff, and teaching faculty!  I know we are all pressed for time and finances are tight for many…but PRAYER we can all do!  Pray for the Gospel to be alive and real for our children, that they may come to know Christ intimately through a saving relationship with Him.  Pray for the safety of our children, staff, and building.  Pray for boldness for our children to own their faith and be warriors for the Kingdom.  Pray against attacks from the Enemy.  There are so many ways to cover our children and school in prayer!
PARTICIPATE!  As I mentioned, there are many ways you can volunteer your time!  I encourage you to contact me if you’d like to serve.  If you aren’t sure where, I can help you find a great fit for your giftings and your schedule/availability.
Be POSTIVE!  We have a fabulous school!  We would love to grow in the future.  Your positivity around our children, teachers, administration, and community go such a long way in the overall feel of our school and our reputation in Nacogdoches.  We want to represent Christ with excellence in education to bring Him glory alone.  Help us by staying positive!

I am looking forward to a great 2016 – 2017 school year!

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.{ Colossians 3:23}

At Fredonia Hill Baptist Academy, we aim to produce well rounded students. The Bible tells us in Luke 2:52 that "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men." We strive to develop our students in the same way. Our school holds high academic standards and students work at a challenging pace. Students develop their bodies through our physical education program. Daily Bible teaching gives children a solid understanding of God's love for them. This will lead him to self-respect, self-confidence and self-expectation. Seeing himself as a beloved child of God that is committed and obligated to God's will and commandments, a child develops a sense of respect for others. Our school is able to accomplish this through a strong qualified faculty, the best curriculum, controlled classroom size and reliable testing.
